Assesament Upon the Diagnosis Different from Post-operative Pathologic Findings in Some Stomach Diseases
Oh In-Hyuk

Abstract
Among the 96 cases, whose diagnosis were established by histopathology after gastric surgery, 22 cases were selected in this study according to the radiologic and endoscopic diagnosis which were different from post-operative pathologic findings. The subjected 22 cases were studied to be assessed upon the findings before and after surgery.
The results were as follows:
1) Two cases appeared normal on one study, having lesion on another study, were proved to have pathology post-operatively. Namely, radiologically normal one was proved as scirrhous malignancy and another one was found to have a benign ulcer.
2) In detecting ulcerative lesions, most of radiologic findings were compatible with endoscopic studies. However, the nature of the pathology in one study was not always identical with another. Of the fifteen cases, having ulcerative lesion, radiologically benign eight cases were malignant, and endoscopically malignant six cases and one benign case were proved to be benign and malignant respectively.
3) Four cases missed on both radiologic and endoscopic examination were also experienced.
4) It is emphasized that in detecting gastric lesions the cooperative radiologic and endoscopic examination would be helpful and for improving the diagnostic accuracy biopsy and cytologic study should be applied supplementarily.
